What Is Surrogate Compensation?
Surrogate compensation is the financial support and recognition provided to a gestational surrogate for the physical commitment, personal impact, and meaningful role she carries throughout the surrogacy journey. At Choice, compensation is designed as a complete package that includes base compensation, a monthly expense allowance beginning at confirmed match, the Legal Clearance Payment, and the Postpartum Recovery Payment. It fits within Choice's all-inclusive program model for intended parents while keeping the surrogate's compensation simple and easier to understand.
Surrogate Compensation Base Pay
First-Time Surrogates Receive $55,000 in Base Compensation
Paid in 10 equal monthly payments of $5,500 once pregnancy is confirmed with heartbeat on ultrasound.

- Base compensation begins after the pregnancy heartbeat is confirmed on ultrasound and is paid in 10 equal monthly payments of $5,500.
- If you carry the pregnancy to 28 weeks, your full base compensation is earned. Payments continue on the regular monthly schedule, but your base compensation is protected regardless of the final delivery outcome or the baby's health.
- There are no deductions based on your employment status, location, or personal health insurance.
Experienced GC Base Compensation
Experienced gestational carriers please complete the application process. At the virtual session with Trish - your compensation package will be created.
We review each experienced GC's history and pregnancies and unique details to create her customized base that she will receive on top of our standard package.
$5,000 Legal Clearance Payment
Paid once legal clearance is received, before pregnancy compensation begins.
By this point, your agreement has been finalized, legal clearance has been received, and the IVF phase is ready to move forward. You have a clear path to become pregnant. This payment recognizes the commitment already made before pregnancy compensation begins.
$5,000 Postpartum Recovery Payment
Paid at delivery to give every Choice surrogate care and time for postpartum recovery.
The Postpartum Recovery Payment supports every Choice surrogate during postpartum recovery, whether her usual responsibilities include working at a job location, working from home, caring for children, managing household needs, or healing after delivery as she recovers during the fourth trimester.

Expense Allowance Payment
Choice Provides a $500 Monthly Expense Allowance Paid on the 1st of every month.

- Travel for appointments is arranged by Choice, with personal support throughout the process.
- A life insurance policy is included during your surrogacy journey.
- Health insurance is reviewed, and if needed, a new surrogate pregnancy policy is arranged and paid for by Choice.
- Additional financial support is provided if pregnancy complications affect your work or home life.
- That support may include lost wages, home help, or childcare when medically necessary.
- Payments are paid in the event of c-section, loss or organ or other medical complications.
